I remember Nathan as a person that never worried about anything, and was always calm and collect. He would always make the best out of the situation presented. I met Nathan in 6th grade as we had the same homeroom together. Nathan was the cool kid, his voice was always laid back and relaxed. I recall us talking in the morning before school, usually about things that were going on in CSA. I also remember that Nathan was sporting his “Drilformance” backpack, which he told me that you work for. At every CSA dance, I would always see Nathan being the life of the sometimes dull Cornerstone dances. He was always telling me how he had just had about 5 Coca-Cola’s and that he was going to get another. Perhaps the most memorable experience I had with Nathan was when he, myself, Austin Kallus, and John Fitzpatrick all went to Austin’s church on a Friday evening to experience the life of the homeless. We were allowed to bring cardboard boxes and any other materials we pleased to make a shelter to sleep in for the night, outside. Of course it was about 50 degrees, windy, and rainy that night, but we still managed to make a ginormous makeshift cardboard home, with a square center area for backpacks, and from each side of the center there was a 7 foot long shoot that made each of us our own “room”. We got to bed around 1 am, and we had to leave for Downtown Houston at about 7:30 that morning; miserable, but fun. In Downtown, we passed out goodie baskets for the homeless. And of course, that night, Nathan was wearing his signature outfit: A plain white t-shirt and blue jeans. I have a picture of all four of us on that night, and I will send it to you in another email. I hope this is a help, and I am sorry for what has happened. I’ll never forget Nathan.
Thanks,
Sean
